Welcome to the Test Villages U3A.  Set up in 2010, Test Villages U3A  serves the villages of Kings Somborne, Stockbridge, Longstock, the Tytherleys, Houghton, Broughton, the Wallops, Clatford, Wherwell, Barton Stacey and Chilbolton and the other village communities in this area. It  is a relatively new group but we already have more than 200 members. For eligibility see FAQs (on left).

The Test Villages U3A was officially opened at the Grosvenor Hotel in Stockbridge on Wednesday 3rd November 2010.  Over 80 people turned up for the launch and to hear the first guest speaker. The committee have been delighted at the interest shown in the monthly meetings, visits and the various interest groups that have since started up (see links on left). The fifth AGM was held on 7th October 2015. For the Constitution, Aims and Objectives and the present Committee see "about us" (link on left).

General meetings with speakers are held on the first Wednesday of each month at Longstock Village Hall, from 2 to 4pm. Anyone who is interested in joining or would like to know more please contact  Kim Candler (01264 811776), Ed Farrand (01264 860492)  or Chris Backwell (01264 861406).

Virtual U3A

Print

The Virtual U3A (vU3A), which went live in January 2009, is an online-only U3A, affiliated to the Third Age Trust. One of its principal aims is to provide the U3A experience for those who are rendered isolated in some way by circumstances or geography and unable to play a full part in a terrestrial U3A. More information is available on the public website www.vu3a.org where one can also apply for membership. Why not pay it a visit? And if you know of anyone who might benefit, please pass the information on.
