This group makes monthly visits covering a variety of interests, which may be cultural, scientific, industrial or historical. The visits are both informative and social, often ending with a pub lunch (some indication of typical visits are given in link for visit reports).
Our planned visits are:
Wed April 26th, KEW GARDENS and the NATIONAL ARCHIVES at KEW. The coach will drop us off first at Kew Gardens and then take those who wish to visit the National Archives to them. The entry for Kew covers the National Archives, but those visiting the Archives will need a reader’s ticket, which costs nothing, but two lots of ID will be needed. Details will be available nearer the time. Kew itself is wonderful and should be at it’s best in the Spring. There are glass houses, some quite ancient and beautiful as well as acres of garden. There is a café and restaurant. There will be one pick up at the White Hart Stockbridge at 7,45am, (coach company has suggested this time to avoid the worst of the M3 traffic going into Basingstoke, Cost to include entrances and coach £30.We will leave Kew at 4pm to avoid the rush hour traffic.
